2 Cups Tomatoes (chopped)
½ Cup Onion (finely chopped)
1 Tbs Olive Oil
1 Glove Garlic (crushed)
100ml Dry Red Wine
1 Tsp White Sugar
5ml Course Sea Salt
5ml Ground Black pepper
10 Fresh Basil leaves (chopped)
10ml Olive oil
500g Penne Pasta
Add the olive oil to a saucepan and over medium heat add the onion, garlic until the onion has become soft.
In another pot, combine the pasta and oil with water and let the pasta cook for about 30 minutes on high heat.
Add the red wine and sugar to the onion mixture. Let the wine simmer until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has become slightly dark. Add the tomatoes and let it cook until soft. Add the oregano, salt and pepper.
When the paste is cooked, strain the pasta and add the tomato wine sauce.
Garnish with fresh chopped Basil leaves and enjoy with a glass of Survivor Cabernet Sauvignon!
